Development and programming of an automated tool to carry out FAT testing on cabinets manufactured in series for a PITCH system for an OFFSHORE wind farm.
2021 # POLAND
INPROAFE AUTOMATION designs and manufactures two tools for testing the pitch on an offshore wind turbine.
These units enable the client to carry out functional testing before assembling the pitch in the turbine.
The aim was to design a piece of equipment which enables the configuration and testing of different components of the pitch as well as the simulation of real conditions and states of the turbine to test that the pitch will respond correctly to the different events that may occur once it has been installed in its final position.
AIMS
- To supply the equipment necessary to carry out electric and functional testing.
- To integrate communications into the different pitch control subsystems to enable set up and parameter settings.
- To design the sequence for electrical testing prior to functional testing.
- To supply the equipment necessary to carry out electric and functional testing.
- To integrate communications into the different pitch control subsystems to enable set up and parameter settings.
- To design the sequence for electrical testing prior to functional testing.
- To simulate the upper controller of the turbine for pitch control. The tool’s PLC provides the functions of this controller during functional testing. Thus it exchanges with the pitch the information necessary to replicate the different states, positions and readings of the turbine’s sensors.
- To process the validation test reports.
